HK93, HK33, C93

Aim has the C93 back in stock. I didn't want to post it until my C93 came in....I picked it up yesterday.

If you feel that you missed out on the HK93 back in the 80s this is not a bad deal.

I will post a report on my C93 in a few days. So far after cleaning it looks like a great build.

From what I understand these are rebuilds of HK33's with new barrels, new receivers and semi-only trigger groups.

The HK roller-delayed bolt system is unique AFAIK, and certainly is little-understood. Initial assembly headspacing is achieved by the barrel installation and pinning process, and closed gap between the bolt and carrier must be maintained at a minimum measure. Use-induced wear reduces this gap and can be adjusted over time by installing slightly oversized rollers into the bolt head, available here:

I have read of some anecdotal evidence that some of these aftermarket rebuilds are not as cautious as they should be with assembly and headspacing, and have attempted to compensate for overly-worn parts by grinding off bolt faces to restore gap.

Take your 93 apart and you'll understand the spacing issue. Here's a link to video on bolt carrier disassembly and other pertinent info:

The HK93 is a great rifle.

I've been researching the cetme and c93 for the past few days. From what I've been reading alot of people having issues with these. Century made, some people have probs some are fine. I think it really comes down to you get what you pay for.. I own a century polish tantal and it's great.. I did seriously concider the c93 and cetme, however with the HK clones I decided to spend a little extra and go with the PTR-91 for quality. Budsgunshop just got a bunch in.

I already have a PTR 91 and it's a great rifle...

I also have a couple Cetmes that run flawlessly.

I just had a hunger for another rifle that eats 556.

From all I see there was a lot more care in the assembly of the C93 compared to the Cetmes.

nice ptr ^_^ I'm jealous.. cant wait for my ptr-91 to arrive. I'm all ansy.. purchased 25 99c mags n ammo ready to hit the range.. you cant go wrong with the price on the c93 for sure.. I'm just cautious of the build. I'm sure if prob arise aim would address them.
